MOT

We can carry out MOT tests on Class 1 and 2 motorbikes and Class 4 vehicles. We have been authorized by VOSA for in excess of 30 years. If your vehicle fails, we offer a service to repair and retest your vehicle on the same day where possible. All of our prices are competitive and our work is fully guaranteed. Our MOT tests check that all vehicles meet the road safety and environmental standards in line with the DVLA. With the latest computer technology, we can provide accurate brake and emission measurements too.

Feel free to relax in our Reception area or the onsite Cafe whilst our experienced MOT testers check your vehicle. If you prefer, you can watch the MOT test procedure taking place in the MOT viewing area in the workshop.

Servicing

At Grays we offer competitively priced servicing on all makes and models. It is essential for your vehicle to be serviced regularly to identify defects early, and carry out rectification work. This can avoid exposing yourself to any safety risks and/or any major subsequent damage to your vehicle.

We currently have 10 operational service bays at our premises, offering routine servicing. With the most advanced equipment and technology we can carry out services on all ranges of cars to a fine point of precision. Our skilled workforce have a combined experience of 50 years, so you can be sure your vehicle is serviced by qualified and competent professionals.

Exhaust

At Grays, we incorporate a variety of tailpipe options in every shape & size to suit your needs. We also stock a wide range of exhaust parts and exhaust systems. With top brands such as Bosal, Timax, Euroflow and Walkers, our exhausts are fully aluminised which reduces corrosion to the part.

Batteries

We have a large range of car batteries which can be fitted or taken away for DIY fitting. Batteries are sold with a guarantee and are priced with the fitting included. Our mechanics are qualified and experienced, they will ensure you get the right battery for your vehicle. Our batteries are all from leading manufacturers and offer the best battery performance. Aside from car batteries, we also stock batteries for light commercial vans too.

Checking the battery of your vehicle is a service we offer free of charge. If your vehicle’s battery warning light has come on our experienced team can help get you back on the road.

Air Conditioning

Regular servicing is essential for Car air conditioning systems. This is due to the natural porosity of the hoses and components of the air conditioning systems in modern vehicles.

At Grays, we believe servicing your vehicles Air Conditioning system is just as important as servicing any other part. Our technicians recommend a service is carried out at least every 2 years. By doing this, you can avoid increased fuel consumption and the build-up of bacteria and fungus. On our premises, we have a well-equipped workshop with an extensive range of spare parts instock.. Our highly trained technicians are accredited with the latest manufacturers. This includes: ultra high performance, original equipment fitments and the latest technology for run flat tyres. We use world leading equipment from Hunter Engineering for wheel alignment and balancing. Our technicians will explain all available choices, giving clear, honest advice on your tyres, alignment and balancing. We pride ourselves on our fast, efficient and courteous service, and will advise you of the most appropriate tyre replacement.

Suspension

At Grays, we offer top quality and professional suspension repairs for all makes and models. One function of your car’s suspension is to provide a smooth, comfortable ride even when you are on a bumpy road. However, the most important job is to keep all four tyres in firm contact with the road. This ensures that steering, driving and braking systems are effective.

There are many parts working together to ensure your cars suspension is doing its job. Shock absorbers and springs are the main parts, however, it is important that other parts are in good condition too. These parts include: ball joints, track rod ends and suspension bushes.
